At least that’s what it looks like to me. Found it on nevadamoonrise.

I remember seeing this house in a magazine years ago. Probably a Saturday Evening Post my parents had.
Oh really? It’s so unique — wish I knew more details.
I work in the houseboat community in Sausalito and remember this boat being around until 10 years ago or so… Nice to be reminded.
Hey John, thanks for the info. LOVE Sausalito.
Hi Hillary – I’m a builder who works primarily on the houseboats/floating homes in Sausalito. Most of the original places like this one were built in the 1970′s and have been gradually replaced by larger, newer homes as real estate prices have risen and the demographics of the community change. Not too many of these types of “hippie” structures (as they were called) are left. Many were actually built on left- over WW2 landing craft; the first boat we bought was one of these. The original bill of sale I received with the transaction showed that it was first sold for $2,000 and a case of beer in 1973! Funny… Sausalito is a very different place now… John
Yes… very different. We were fortunate enough to spend some time in Sausalito two years ago, housesitting on a boat. The area still has charm…a different charm.
