A Summer House in Sweden

Post image for A Summer House in Sweden

Absolutely gorgeous house complements an equally gorgeous treehouse. Photographed by the young Swedish Anna Ådén.

And also a winter house.

Stumbled here this morning. Love it – I’ll be back to visit often. ~Z

In Sweden this type of small house is called a “friggebo” and is ubiquitous. Swedes were previously allowed to build a friggebo up to 10 square meters in size (110 sq. feet) without any need for permits or prior approval. This was recently increased to 15 square meters (165 sq feet).

Many Swedish homes have a friggebo in their yard used variously as a guest house, tool storage, office, or a kids playroom.
