Reminiscent of SunRay Kelly, this architect/forester Roald Gunderson shapes small-diameter trees, then uses them as rafters and framing in the houses he designs. According to this NY Times article, a whole tree is twice as strong as milled lumber, and needless to say, much better for sustainable forests.

In this YouTube video, Roald reminds us that we spend 90-95% of our lives indoors (so it better be good). Is there a slow building movement afoot? (Via Lloyd’s Blog)

I love this! It is so amazing and looks fun too.

What great design. The kids look like they are having a blast!
I have met Roald and Amelia and been to their wonderful house. Truly inspirational!
It takes heart to do what these people are doing for each other and for the planet. I have known SunRay for over 30 years and I have found Peace and Tranquility in every structure he has created…giving always of his Heart & Soul.
Blessings to all,
Lisa
