Art director and set designer James Hatt designed this treehouse for a magazine photo shoot which was built in 3 days with a small team of carpenters. The entire process was improvised with creative use of reclaimed materials, especially the stained glass.

After the photo shoot, the treehouse was left for the family who owned the land. More photos.

I love the use of the stained glass windows, it’s really creative. I frequently come across discarded windows in alleys and near side walks and wonder how I can use them. I’ve seen a few other neighbor’s hang old windows in their porches for decorations, it’s really unique. But, using old windows, especially stained glass, for ceilings and walls is a terrific idea.
These pictures are beautiful. I would love to see a treehouse like this, and I would especially love to own one. The stained glass adds lovely light effects.
