Violet Hobaugh, 92, of Lebanon County, Pennsylvania lives alone with no running water, no electricity, no heat, no phone, and she wants to keep it that way. In 2004 she gained her “fame” by living in this treehouse on her property in order to prevent the tree from being cut down. (source)

Wow! Talk about committed. I love the idea of tree houses, but I would definitely have to spruce it up a bit. (no pun intended! Sorry I’m such a dork.)

How do you think this dear old lady has nerves to live w/o heat? I can see no running water or electricity. But oh my she must get so cold! She must be quite a lady; I’d love to sit and have tea with her and ask her how?
