She’s got color and personality

new paint job

My tiny house gets a makeover

Her name is Calliope, the oldest and wisest and most assertive of muses. She’s minty green and she’s living in the backyard next to a lemon tree.

All of the credit goes to Michael for painting the exterior color (“spirited green”), the frame (black), and the wheels (white). This includes taking all the little fixtures off and/or taping around the edges, the kind of care and attention that I might not have had the patience for.

The windows were re-installed after a good cleaning. There was a lot of caulk buildup around the edges which needed to be scraped out. One of the screens could use replacing, but I don’t have the willingness to source new trailer windows at this point. Michael completely re-caulked and re-set the new windows — I helped screw them back in with a bunch of #10 panhead screws. It’s a little cheaper and a little greener solution than making all of our puchases at a marine supply store.

Hi, I knew Jay when he had his Airstream in Iowa City and my daughter , son-in-law and grandchildren are pictured in his booklet.

I have a Compact, Jr (blue too) and a Casita – I tow both (at separate times!) with my Honda Civic (long story). Photos at ‘Tin Trailer’ Yahoo group under ‘tiny tows”

Am most curious – what do you tow with?

Love your website, your attitude and your mission.

peace,
dennis

Dennis! Thanks for writing… yay, another Compact Jr. owner! (We love Casitas too.)

We tow the trailer with both Michael’s car (Toyota 4Runner) and my car (Mitsubishi Lancer) depending on if we need 4 wheel drive or not. I’ll write more about that soon.

I look forward to taking a look at your pics.
