How our house compares to a Tumbleweed House

November 20, 2008

It just occurred to me how similar our new house is to the Tumbleweed Enesti house. The only big difference is there’s no second bathroom upstairs in our place, nor a front porch (though we have 2 small porches on either side). I love Jay’s vernacular designs, and the fact that this nearly hundred-year-old house is a spitting image speaks to the notion that “common” architecture stands the test of time.

It’s funny how people think that living in a 600 or 700 square foot home is downsizing these days, when here we are considering this as a huge house!

***Update March 2010: we bought a house***

My mom was confused so I thought I would clarify that the floorplan photo above is the Tumbleweed Enesti design, not our house.
