Wednesday night Michael and I found ourselves in the middle of farmlands and pulled off on some accommodating dirt road. Sitting in the trailer with our beverages of choice, we watched the sun set on the right side window and watched the moon rise on the left. Exhausted from a somewhat stressful couple of days, we left said windows open all night and a babbling irrigation canal lulled us to sleep early.
On Thursday we started our day at 7am, cruising through rice farm country to get to a little side-of-the-road hotspring destination. Hot springs, yes, we love ‘em. A man from Reno was cleaning it out when we arrived, so we headed back to our trailer, cooked ourselves an egg breakfast and spent some time figuring exactly how we’re going to be finishing the interior of our tiny house.

We came back to find a freshly cleaned 102-103 degree tub and a river otter swimming by. After a few hours of soaking in the hot spring, jabbing with the local visitors, dunking in the cold river, and some more soaking, we were off to meander on up the road a ways. (You start talking like this, too, when you’ve been doing what amounts to nothing on a hot autumn day in the middle of nowhere…)

We found a great little camping spot on some forest land and a small hike down to a waterfall accented our evening. After co-cooking a salad and a nice hot rice entree for dinner, we left the dishes for the morning. I’ve been very happy with our luxurious 3-burner stove. It’s almost like we’re in a real house!

somehow i missed your name, but loooove your life choices! after i got married we lived in a trailer while my husband built a boat, and what a great life. like living outside, without worrying abut the tent blowing over. there is nothing like wandering to make a person feel alive. best of luck, callie
